How to Energize & Restore with a Yoga Wheel

The Yoga Wheel is a fairly new innovation in yoga props. This video was produced as an homage and in the spirit of B.K.S. Iyengar, who made props both practical and popular in Western Yoga. Props allow individuals to feel more supported while helping to maintain safe alignment. Yoga practitioners can access postures with the use of props that may have been previously challenging due to physical limitations and differences in abilities. Iyengar understood well the differences and uniqueness of every body and created a style of yoga that is accessible to all who seek.


The yoga wheel has the amazing benefits of both optimum size and shape to help open the thoracic spine, and to safely stretch the psoas; offering the spine and deep core tremendous relief. Personally, my back adjusts comfortably every time I come to my wheel.


This video is a lively, fun stretch and strength flow that will build stability in the core while working to stretch out the upper thoracic spine which is often very tight, especially for those who work at desk jobs.
